An Encounter with Jesus

Welcome!  If you find yourself here at this page and you do not know Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you are NOT here by accident.
God is the Creator of the universe and He has a plan for your life.  He wants you to know and experience Him.  Please keep reading to see what it means to be a Christian.  Our prayer is that God will meet you wherever you are and change your life forever.

Why do we need a relationship with Jesus? Truthfully, we come to Him because of various problems in our lives: depression, failing marriages, lost jobs, health issues, children, and many, many more.

As we grow to know Jesus more, we realize two key things:  1) He is willing and able to transform our lives in ways in which we never imagined.  2) He does not promise to remove all of our problems, but more importantly, to be there with us through them all.

The bible gives us the steps that we need know God.  Follow along with us as we review some of the verses from Romans, one of the books in the bible to see what God's plan is for you.

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20, NLT)
God has revealed Himself to us through the all that He has created.  Just look around at nature and see what God has done. Man has devised many theories but we must come to believe that God is the author behind all of creation.

“As the Scriptures say,“No one is righteous—not even one.” (Romans 3:10, NLT)
From the first man on Earth, Adam, sin has reigned in our bodies.  A key step in our relationship with God is realizing that:

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23, NLT)
Sin is when we do those things that are wrong in God's eyes.  We trust that He knows best because He created us.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, NLT) Because of our sin, death (eternal separation from God) is what we deserve, but God has provided a remedy for the sin that has burdened mankind since Adam.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8, NLT) God did not wait for you to "get yourself right".  He demonstrated His love by providing the remedy for our sin through His son, Jesus.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)  It takes more than "head knowledge" to have a relationship with God.  What you 'believe in your heart' will remain with you always.

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13, NLT) This is God's promise to all who trust in Him. If you sincerely call on Him from your heart, you can be sure that you will be with Him for eternity despite what you may see going on around you here on earth.

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1, NLT) That's right!  While there may be earthly consequences for our actions, You will no longer be judged on the basis of your actions because you have not exchanged your sins for the righteousness of Jesus.

These steps represent the basics about knowing God.  If you believe these Scriptures, and you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all you need to do is to ask Him and He will do it - right here, right now.  We pray that you will choose to begin a relationship with God today.
